2016 - Northern Ireland/Severní Irsko

Do Severního Irska jsem jel s kolegy převážně pracovně na konferenci, avšak volné chvíle jsem strávil v chovatelských zařízeních i v přírodě. Rád bych zde vyjádřil velké díky Wiltonu Farrellymu za jeho velkou pomoc při dohledávání zájmových lokalit.

I went to the Northern Ireland with my colleagues mostly to work / to the congress. Despite of it, I spent free whiles in the zoological institutions as well as in the nature. I´m very grateful to Wilton Farrelly cause of his help in searching of particular localities.

Zoo Belfast (září 2016)

Na Zoo Belfast je sice vidět, že se jedná o konzervativní zoologickou zahradu, přesto má stále co nabídnout - ze zvířat nejvíce zaujmou sifaky, klokani Goodfellowovi, tři druhy černých kakaduů, drozd lombocký nebo tučňáci oslí.

Despite its conservativness, Belfast Zoo has still lots of things to offer. In the animal collections, you can find such interesting things like Crowned Sifakas, Goodfellow´s Tree Kangaroos, three species of Black Cockatoos, Chestnut-backed Thrus or Gentoo Penguins.

The World of Owls (září 2016)

Malé, avšak velice zajímavé soukromé zařízení, věnované z velké části, jak již název napovídá, jen sovám. Mají zde mnoho řídce chovaných druhů výrů i výrečků. Jedním z nejzajímavějších chovanců je bezsporu přes 25 let starý pár ketup rybích. Zařízením mne provedl sám majitel.

Small, but very interesting private institution, dedicated mostly, as its name says, to the owls. They keep lots of rarely kept species of eagle owls and scops owls. One of the most interesting wards is, with no doubts, a pair of Brown Fish Owls, older than 25 years. I was guided here by the owner of the park.

Castle Espie - Wildfowl and Wetland Trust (září 2016)

Castle Espie patří do sítě britských WWT - mokřadních center, která byla vytvořena k propagaci vodních biotopů. Tak, jako v ostatních WWT centrech, i zde se chová několik desítek druhů exotických vrubozobých v jedné části a druhou část tvoří cesta mezi ukázkou přírodních biotopů.

Castle Espie belongs to the net of british centers WWT - wetland centers which were built to do the public education on the water habitatts. As in other WWT centers, here they also keep some tens of exotic waterfowls in one part of the park and the second part is a path along various native habitats.
